Overview

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Lube Technician to join our maintenance team at Logistec.  The Lube Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper lubrication, maintenance, and inspection of heavy equipment and machinery to keep operations running smoothly.  This role is critical in supporting the efficiency and longevity of port equipment.  


Responsibilities

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Lubricates moving parts of heavy equipment throughout the facility.
  2. Inspects machinery for signs of wear, leaks, or mechanical issues during servicing and report findings to supervisors.
  3. Changes oil in machine reservoirs; cleans and replaces oil filters.
  4. Ensures that automatic lubrication equipment operates correctly, replacing empty drums or malfunctioning lines.
  5. Fills automatic dispensers, oil cans, and oil cups.
  6. Identifies machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance through provided work orders and specifications.
  7. Identifies when and what type of preventive maintenance is required for heavy equipment; performs the maintenance, reporting any need for additional maintenance or repairs to supervisor.
  8. Completes logs, reports, or other documentation related to the installation, replacement, modification, or changing of machine parts and attachments.
  9. Removes superfluous oil and grease from machinery with a pressure washer.
  10. Complies with applicable federal, state, and company laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding health, safety, and environmental protection.
  11. Supports preventive maintenance programs by identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
  12. Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
  13. Assist welder/mechanic as needed.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications

Candidate Requirements:

  • Required Skills/Abilities:

    1. Ability and willingness to learn and advance mechanical skills.
    2. Thorough understanding of machines and tools being used.
    3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    4. Ability and willingness to wear safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal

    protective equipment.

    • Posses or have the ability to get a TWIC card.
    • Valid driver’s license.

    Education and Experience:

    1. At least six months of related experience with heavy machinery, whether acquired in-company or elsewhere, highly preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    1. Prolonged periods standing, crouching, bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling in all weather conditions in order to perform job.
    2. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
