Responsibilities

 

What does your day look like as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler:

 

The Maintenance Planner processes and schedules work orders and creates work plans. They organize the work, ensuring the availability of human resources, equipment, materials, special tools, procedures, and instructions required to perform the tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Manage repairable and non-repairable parts inventory.
  • Prioritize the scheduling of work orders in the backlog based on risk management for safety, environment, and operations.
  • Keep the backlog list organized and up to date at all times.
  • Schedule work orders.
  • Confirm the scope of the work to be planned and visit the site to assess the tasks.
  • Develop standard tasks and works.
  • Identify and coordinate the services and trades involved in executing the work order.
  • Validate if internal resources have the necessary skills and competencies to perform the task.
  • Identify special tools and equipment required to perform the work safely and efficiently.
  • Identify preparation needs to ensure equipment availability for work execution.
  • Reserve and order parts and materials.
 
 
 

Qualifications

 

To succeed as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, you must have:

  • A DEC in mechanical engineering technology or a DEP in industrial mechanics or any relevant training.
  • Three (3) years of experience in maintenance planning (factory or rolling equipment).
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Excel and Word).
  • Knowledge of the CMMS software, Intéral (an asset).
  • Mastery of maintenance principles (preventive, corrective, predictive).
