Responsibilities

What your days look like as a Senior Tax Advisor:  

 

  • Support the preparation of multi-state sales tax and property tax filings.
  • Prepare year-end tax provision for U.S. entities.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of tax returns, estimated tax payments, and other tax-related filings.
  • Reconcile and analyze all tax-related general ledger accounts.
  • Provide data to external service providers to ensure accurate and timely filings of all taxes, including income tax and sales and use taxes.
  • Collaborate both virtually and in person with various departments to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, external auditors, and tax advisors through various communication channels

Qualifications

To be successful as a Senior Tax Advisor: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification required.
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in tax.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax accounting principles (asset).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in the financial module of an ERP system (asset).
  • Demonstrated continuous professional development.
