Responsibilities
What Your Days Look Like as a Finance Business Partner:
Planning & Budgeting
Prepare budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with operational teams (revenues, costs, margins, capex).
Provide regular updates on anticipated performance by business line.
Profitability Monitoring
Analyze project profitability with operational teams to achieve and surpass financial objectives.
Provide key stakeholders with visibility on performance, particularly on direct and indirect costs.
Issue monthly reports on project profitability.
Collaborate with operational teams to identify process and procedural improvements.
Produce financial metrics and key performance indicators relevant to various business sectors (including balance sheet items such as DSO and work-in-progress aging).
Month-End Closing & Financial Analysis
Coordinate and complete month-end activities according to the schedule (work in progress, accrued projects, and provisions).
Conduct a comprehensive analysis of financial performance versus budget, forecasts, and previous year results.
ERP & Financial Systems
Oversee project financial management processes throughout their lifecycle.
Support initiatives to enhance financial information systems and reporting.
Other Responsibilities
Monitor bonding requirements, including quarterly reporting to insurers.
Drive business process improvements.
Conduct various analyses and support additional assignments as required.
Qualifications
To Succeed as a Finance Business Partner, You Should Have:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Knowledge and experience on revenue recognition – must be able to explain the process and the methodologies being used.
- 3-way matching on PO-Receiving-AP.
5-8 years of experience in finance, particularly in project accounting and financial analysis.
CPA designation (or in progress), but a strong financial accounting background is essential.
Experience in project tracking and profitability monitoring.
Bilingual in English and French.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Adaptive (or similar systems) (an asset).
Ability to collaborate with operational teams in a matrix structure.
Lean Six Sigma certification (an asset).
